Why missed calls cost more than you think
When someone searches for a trade, they usually ring down the list until somebody answers. If that isn't you, the job's gone, and so has the chance of a review, a repeat job and a referral.
Five ways to catch the work you're missing
1. A proper voicemail greeting
Free, and better than nothing: say your name, that you're on a job, and that you'll call back within the hour, then do it.
2. Missed-call text back
An automatic text goes out the moment you miss a call: "Sorry, on a job. What do you need doing and where?" Most people reply rather than ring someone else.
3. WhatsApp on your website
Many customers would rather send a photo of the problem than explain it. A WhatsApp button lets them, and lets you reply between jobs.
4. An AI assistant on your site and phone
An AI assistant trained on your services, prices and area answers questions 24/7, takes the customer's details and job, and sends you a neat summary. It doesn't pretend to be you, and it never books anything you haven't approved.
5. Call tracking
You can't fix what you can't see. Call tracking shows how many calls you missed, when, and where they came from.
Joining it up
The best setup combines them: the website, Google profile, WhatsApp and missed-call text all send enquiries to one place on your phone, and the automation follows up quotes and asks for reviews when jobs are done.
